Applications for new individual memberships and renewals of existing individual memberships will be granted based on the criteria below.
The HL7 individual membership category is primarily intended for the self-employed, retirees, those working for organizations with revenues of less than $5 million per year, and for those with a personal interest in improving healthcare through standards and being a part of the HL7 community. Individuals working for organizations with revenues greater than $5 million per year may apply for an HL7 Individual Membership but are encouraged to consider joining at the appropriate organizational membership level.

Individual membership is geared toward those with a personal interest in the standards and applies only to the person named on the Membership Application form.

Individual members may not use, copy, or distribute HL7 standards for any purpose other than personal participation in the maintenance and development of HL7 standards. For more details, please refer to the HL7 IP policy.
Benefits for individual membership apply only to the person named on the Membership Application Form. Individual memberships cannot be transferred from one individual to another.
You can upgrade your Individual Membership to an Organizational Membership at any time. Dues for the current year will be prorated and applied to Organizational Membership. To upgrade your membership, please contact MemberInfo@HL7.org.
