Participation in HL7 is a great way for students to get real-life experience with standards development and healthcare interoperability.
Student members receive discounts on HL7 meetings, as well as access to HL7 standards according to our IP Policy.
Who Can Join?
Membership is open to students who are currently enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate or masters program and who are not professionally employed. (Enrollment status is subject to verification with the educational institution.)
Details
Student members may not use, copy, or distribute HL7 standards for any purpose other than personal participation in the maintenance and development of HL7 standards.
This is a non-voting membership. Students who wish to vote on HL7 standards, participate in governance elections, or hold leadership roles (such as co-chairs) should join HL7 under the appropriate full membership category.
Once you graduate or are no longer a student, your membership can be upgraded to an Individual or Organizational membership. To upgrade your membership, please contact MemberInfo@HL7.org.
